{"id":141,"date":"2010-06-20T14:41:24","date_gmt":"2010-06-20T19:41:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/?p=141"},"modified":"2010-06-20T14:41:24","modified_gmt":"2010-06-20T19:41:24","slug":"cda-marathon-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/?p=141","title":{"rendered":"CDA Marathon Recap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was about three weeks ago (30 May 2010) that I completed the <a title=\"CDA Marathon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cdamarathon.com\" target=\"_blank\">Coeur D&#8217;Alene Marathon<\/a>. \u00a0This was my fifth marathon start this year and fourth completed. \u00a0The Nashville Rock &#8216;n Roll Marathon was cut short due to weather. \u00a0As it turns out, I also set a new PR of 5:20:40. \u00a0Really slow, I know, but hey it&#8217;s a PR.<\/p>\n<p>The weather in Coeur D&#8217;Alene was cold &#8211; 47F at the start of the race. \u00a0As we neared the lake, it was also very windy and the cold cut right through me. \u00a0I was wearing a long-sleeve tech-t and tri shorts. \u00a0It is now my belief that the really cold weather is the thing that actually helped me get the PR. \u00a0The skies were overcast, so there was no sun beating down on me either.<\/p>\n<p>This was a good race. \u00a0There were only a few hundred marathoners and many more half-marathoners. \u00a0So unlike the Rock &#8216;n Roll races or the Disney World Marathon, the course was not crowded. \u00a0The down side is that it&#8217;s not really possible to go more than six hours, but who wants to do that? \u00a0They did have marathon walkers and they started 1.5 hours earlier than the rest of us.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, I got a new PR, a cool tech-t, tech-hat and enjoyed it a lot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CDA Marathon Recap<\/p>\n<div class=\"read-more\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/?p=141\">Read more &#8250;<\/a><\/div>\n<p><!-- end of .read-more --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5,7],"tags":[145,144,146,311],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/141"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=141"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/141\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":142,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/141\/revisions\/142"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=141"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=141"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=141"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
