{"id":82,"date":"2010-01-07T05:59:33","date_gmt":"2010-01-07T09:59:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fitness-toolkit.com\/?p=101"},"modified":"2010-01-07T05:59:33","modified_gmt":"2010-01-07T09:59:33","slug":"freezing-in-orlando","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/?p=82","title":{"rendered":"Freezing in Orlando"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s just a few days away from the Disney World Marathon (10 Jan) and the temps here in Orlando are close to freezing.\u00a0 The overnight low Sat\/Sun is expected to be about 29!\u00a0 I am used to running in temps averaging 75 with humidity levels even higher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The last two weeks I was in Las Vegas and ran nearly every day.\u00a0 The temps averaged 45 during my runs.\u00a0 I was wearing:\u00a0 Running shorts, <a title=\"Under Armour\" href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.underarmour.com\/shop\/us\/en\/mens\/apparel\/tops\/mocks\/pid1000512-Men-s-ColdGear-Longsleeve-Mock\/1000512-414\" target=\"_blank\">Under Armour ColdGear longsleeve mock compression shirt<\/a>, a longsleeve tech t-shirt, Asics running tights, and a pair of lightweight gloves.\u00a0 It was quite comfortable once I got warmed up.\u00a0 Yesterday I ran here in Orlando wearing the same gear plus a balaclava around my ears.\u00a0 The temp was in the high thirties.\u00a0 I was quite cold running into the wind.<\/p>\n<p>My quest now is to pick up some chemical hand warmers like the ones made by <a title=\"Warmers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.warmers.com\" target=\"_blank\">Grabber<\/a>.\u00a0 They last way longer than I would need (7+ hours) and will be less than useful in my shoes or on my body.\u00a0 At the very least I can use some hand warmers while waiting for the race to start.\u00a0 Another thought I had was to pick up some <a title=\"ThermaCare\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thermacare.com\" target=\"_blank\">ThermaCare HeatWraps<\/a>.\u00a0 I have used these for back pain and if they don&#8217;t melt the compression shirt, I can use one in between my layers!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How to stay warm when Orlando freezes<\/p>\n<div class=\"read-more\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/?p=82\">Read more &#8250;<\/a><\/div>\n<p><!-- end of .read-more --><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[5,7],"tags":[27,31,32,33,44,49,50,62,311,106],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/82"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=82"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/82\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":81,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/82\/revisions\/81"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=82"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=82"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tomheller.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=82"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
